In our life as Christians, let us remember that “God always waits for us, even when we are far from Him! He is never far away, and if we return to Him, He is ready to embrace us.” This is at the heart of Pope Francis’ homily Sunday evening, during the Mass in which he took possession, as Bishop of Rome, of his Cathedral, the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran. Before the celebration, the Pope unveiled a plaque in the piazza in front of the Vicariate, which renamed the square for Blessed John Paul II.
